Flower Crowns, Books Under the Boughs & More Summer Fun to Come

Flower Crowns, Books Under the Boughs & More Summer Fun to Come

Isn’t it just the best time of year? Sunshine and cool breezes, fragrant flowers and new fruits bursting into the scene, plus babies everywhere. We have baby turkeys nesting in the orchard, hummingbirds in my sweet peas, little bunnies hopping around under the trees, and who knows what other new life emerging. In the abundant spirit of the season, I am excited to announce some returning and brand new events at the farm over the next few months.

Summer Hours

Listen up, in June we are switching to being open on Fridays and Sundays (instead of Saturdays and Sundays), from 10 am - 2 pm. Some of our customers and friends work on the weekend. We heard you andΒ  this change is for you.Β  All you pick rose reservations will be on these days, and when we open our farm stand in around 6 weeks it will be during the same hours.

May 25th & 26th:

Our you pick rose field is still vibrant and full of blooms, for all of you my friends. I am discounting you pick tickets 15% from now until the end of the month, so make your reservations while the same lasts.Β Make a reservation today!

We still have lots of beautiful potted roses on sale for you to take home as well. Rose special this month- buy four and get a fifth plant for free!

Books Under the Boughs

Book lovers and fruit enthusiasts rejoice! This event is for you. Please come spend an afternoon reading your favorite book on the farm. Mark your calendars for Sunday, July 28th, from 2 - 5pm. If we sell out, we will definitely do it again. I love books

We will provide each reservation with a box of fresh picked farm fruit (expect peaches, plums, apricots). You bring your favorite book, perhaps a friend, additional picnic foods, a blanket or portable chairs to lounge in. You can set up a semi-private spot to enjoy anywhere in our orchard, flower field or in front of the livestock pasture.

Bookish children are welcome, well mannered dogs on leash are also welcome. No glass containers in the orchard please. Parking is limited, so carpool if you can.
Reservations are available here!

What’s Next - Fruit Update

I have been thinning the peaches furiously, which is soooo exciting in concept and completely boring in practice. But it does mean there will be peaches this year, and it seems like lots of them. And even more precious, some of our arpicot trees have enough to share in a month or too, which is not a frequent experience.

Thank you for a Wonderful Mother’s Day!

We hosted over a hundred people here for Mother’s Day in the rose field. Thank you for everyone who came and for bringing your delightful families too. I try not to brag much, but, we have the best customers, we really do. Thanks again nice people.

β€œAfter you have exhausted what there is in business, politics, conviviality, love, and so on β€” have found that none of these finally satisfy, or permanently wear β€” what remains? Nature remains; to bring out from their torpid recesses, the affinities of a man or woman with the open air, the trees, fields, the changes of seasons β€” the sun by day and the stars of heaven by night.” - Walt Whitman
