Fruit Incoming and the Roses are Flowing Freely!

A lot of folks have asked when we will start selling fruit this year. We are 100% dependent on the weather, but roughly speaking, we may have fruit by the end of June and definitely by the beginning of July.

The first crop to ripen will be the breba (spring figs). As many of you know, some fig varieties produce fruit twice in the year, once in late spring and the bigger crop in the fall. Next up will be apricots, and we did get a good fruit set on the apricot trees, a gift from our colder and drier than average winter.

Towards mid-July the plums will start to ripen by the thousands, and they are off the charts for fruit set this year. The peaches didn't do quite as well, but there's definitely fruit forming and they should also start ripening in mid to late July.

To purchase our fruit, please look for newsletter alerts when we add fruit to the online store for purchase. I will also send out updates on Facebook and Instagram.

Eternal Summer of Roses

Mother's Day in the You Pick Rose Field was spectacular and full of joy. Many of our customers thought it was a one weekend event, but no! We will have you pick roses all summer long and well into the Fall. So come get some this weekend! Or really any weekend this summer, except for the June 4-5 when we will be closed.

When well pruned and fertilized, most modern rose varieties continue to bloom all season long. They will flush, meaning set up a new set of buds, every 6-8 weeks. Because we fertilize our roses every month and water them 1-2x a week, we have a constant flow of new buds and blooms all the time.
